Must-attend Events for Cybersecurity Professionals
There will be many developments in cybersecurity in 2017, and there’s no better way of getting ahead of these trends than by attending an industry conference.
This year’s conferences are perfect opportunities to learn how your business can best prepare for the never-ending and always-evolving challenges of cybersecurity. So, here’s a quick review of the events you should consider attending in 2017. CyberInt will be at several of them; we hope to see you.
ICE Totally Gaming
When: February 7-9, 2017
Where: ExCel, London UK
Cyberint will be exhibiting at booth S9-255 and participating in a panel session at this exciting event for gaming industry professionals.
The Seminars schedule is comprehensive: varied cybersecurity concerns for the gaming industry will be reviewed and training will be provided as well. Among the subjects presented, you will find a range of topics, including:
- “Blockchain and Gaming” – a seminar focused on the technology behind the bitcoin;
- “IMGL Masterclass” will be looking at critical legal and regulatory challenges;
For networking, the event offers the Pitch ICE platform for featured startups and the World Regulatory Assembly among other possibilities. The Totally Gaming Academy will offer complimentary 45 minute sessions from their various courses at a special theatre for the duration of the conference. The GamCrowd Studio will offer special educational sessions for startups.
RSA Conferences 2017
Organized by RSA security, these events are a great opportunity for information security professionals to stay updated with current trends and industry innovations.
RSA USA
When: February 13-17, 2017
Where: Moscone Center, San Francisco, California, USA
Always a can’t-miss event, this year’s RSA Conference in the U.S. offers an abundance of hands-on sessions and informal gatherings that give you access to top thought leaders in the global cybersecurity community. A session worth attending is “Hacking Exposed Next Gen” which is a demonstration of the cyber vulnerability of everyday objects. Keynote speakers include acclaimed astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson and Brad Smith, president and chief legal officer of Microsoft.
Black Hat Asia
When: March 26-28, 2017
Where: Marina Bay Sands, Singapore
This conference will continue for four days, with two days focused on deep technical training and two days focused on research and vulnerability disclosures. Training sessions will explore malware analysis, adaptive penetration testing and dark side ops, advanced infrastructure hacking, attacking mobile devices and exploration sessions for hackers and developers. A mobile apps boot-camp and practical solving techniques for cybersecurity professionals will also be offered.
Black Hat USA will take place on July 22-27, 2017 at Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA – more information about this event will soon be available.
InfoSec World Conference & Expo 2017
When: April 3-5
Where: Omni Orlando Resort, ChampionsGate, Florida, U.S.
With a leadership session that’s tailor-made for CISOs, as well as other cybersecurity sessions for a larger audience, InfoSec World is hard to beat when it comes to relevant information on real-world security issues. Speakers include Jim Routh, CSO of Aetna, who will speak on the 3 T’s of Security: “Talent Tools and Technology” and Aflac Chief Security Officer Tim Callahan who will speak about moving a security program from defense to offence.
The event is sponsored by tech giants like Hewlett Packard, Check Point and Lieberman Software so it will be sure not to disappoint.
FS-ISAC Events
With the focus on cybersecurity in the financial services industry, the FS-ISAC events attract thought leaders across banking, brokerage, insurance, card companies and payment processing. The events are spread all year round, around the globe. Cyberint will be attending the APAC summit in Singapore and EU summit in Spain, let’s meet!

This conference breaks down cybersecurity for the financial services industry with workshops, speeches and networking events. FS-ISAC USA
When: April 30 – May 3, 2017

FS-ISAC Europe
When: Nov. 6-9
Where: Crowne Plaza, Barcelona, Spain
CISOs and CSOs – and just about every C-level position – are encouraged to attend this three-day conference that uses case studies, sessions and keynote speeches to explain how to balance security practices with overall corporate strategies. In other words, you’ll learn how to prevent malware without losing sight of sales targets. Sebastien de Brouwer of the European Banking Federation will give the keynote address. Cybertech Asia
When: 26-27 April, 2017
Where: Marina Bay Sands, Singapore
This is an event where Cybertech, innovation and investment opportunities are rolled in one. IoT, V2V, Web medical devices, smart home and wearable computing are all buzzwords that prove that that digital penetration into every aspect of daily life is posing new demands on cybersecurity industry. Singapore and Asia are at the forefront of cyber solutions and this event is a great get-together for the region’s thought leaders. Stay tuned for more details.
InfoSec Europe
When: June 6-8, 2017
Where: Olympia, London UK
The conference motto is “Everyone and everything you need to know about information security”. With 360 exhibitors showing the latest solutions in information security, many decision makers and industry leaders are expected to attend.While the date has been set, the program has yet to be released, so be sure to check in for more details.
Gartner IT Infrastructure & Operations Management Summit
When: June 12-13, 2017
Where: Estrel Hotel, Berlin, Germany
This event specifically targets Infrastructure & Operations professionals, and others responsible for the health of an organization’s IT system.
Tracks include Emerging trends – with a special look at IoT and AIOps, I&O leadership and strategy – looking at effectivity, agility and deepening the relationship with the business. Additional tracks include DevOps, IT operations and Cloud. The speakers list is not yet out, but if the 2016 event is any indication, top tier keynotes are to be expected.
DEF CON 25
When: July 27-30, 2017
Where: Caesars Palace, Las Vegas, Nevada USA
Defcon groups and meetups occur all year round, but DEF CON is the annual mega event for hacking knowledge and cybersecurity 25 years straight! The theme of this year’s event is “Community, Discovery and the Unintended Uses of Technology”. Inspired by movies like “Pixels” the retro vibe is strong and one of the highlights is expected to be CTF – Capture the Flag challenge against the best players. The DEF CON resources – Media server, Torrents downloads, Presentations on iTunes and Speakers Conner provide further education options and high end content.
CyberSecurity Show Asia
When: September 22-23, 2017
Where: Suntec convention and exhibition center, Singapore
The event is very focused, with 32 exhibitors, 300 conference delegates and 1000 attendees. It is, however, attended and sponsored by leading companies such as Intel, NTT Communications, Bosch, Entrast Datacard, Infineon, Equinix, IDentiv and Thales.
C suite executives, influencers and disruptors are all expected to attend. Sessions include presentations, but also breakout sessions and roundtable discussions to tackle the latest cybersecurity concerns. Among the speakers you will find Dr. Daniel Hug from Bosch, Christophe Durand for Interpol, Vikalp Nagori from Citibank, Thomas Hoff Anderssen from Copenhagen airports and Mike Bates from Intel.
IPExpo Europe
When: October 4-5, 2017

According to the organizers, this event is “Europe’s number one enterprise event”, as it provides six points for focused and exclusive content all around IT concerns of the modern digital enterprise: Cloud, Cybersecurity, Networks and infrastructure, Data analytics, DevOps and Open source. Exhibitors are invited to speak at a dedicated theatre, so networking and business possibilities are enhanced.

Cybersecurity Summit
When: November 16, 2017
Where: Business Design Center, London UK
The UK Cybersecurity Summit is planned to be even bigger in 2017. The summit is expected to be attended by over 2000 delegates, more than 100 solution providers and will feature 50 expert speakers from the public and private sectors. The event will also feature a GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) co-summit this year. With the UK government announcing a £1.9 billion investment in the implementation of its new cybersecurity strategy, this event is expected to be hot!
